Fitness and Health

In November of 2009, I had issues with my health.  At the same time I had been wanting to have another child but for three months prior, my husband and I had not been able to conceive.  I thought it was not God's plan for us or I just was not able to get pregnant again.

A sharp pain in my abdomen, so bad I could not take it, was what sent me to the ER on November of 2009. When I first was triage at the ER, the first diagnosis that I was confirmed was that I was pregnant.  But concerned about my pain, and the fact that I was spotting, made the doctors admit me for further evaluation.  After long hours and a ultrasound test, they realized that there was no pregnancy in the uterus.  They feared that it could be in the fallopian tubes, making it a pregnancy at risk.

Three days in the hospital and I was sent home.  I could  possibly had an early miscarriage or the pregnancy could continue inside the tube and cause my death.

After further blood test, it was confirmed that I had a miscarriage. I consider this a wake up call for me and a blessing from God.  Sometimes events in our life happen to teach us something.

I continued to have abdominal pains and concerned about it, I went to another doctor.  He said it plainly. You have a muscle strain, what you need to do is loose some weight to help you.  At first I did not think of it seriously.  In fact it took me more than a year to realize that I needed to take care of my health.

March of 2011, I had a complete check-up.  Doctor said I was 10 pounds overweight.  Ok, I need to do something about it now.  So thanks to my sister, who let me borrow her Insanity DVD workouts, I started exercising.  The first time I only finished one month of the program.  By my son's First Communion, I was able to fit a nice dress.  I felt good.  My energy was up.  And I lost 5 pound.  That I later gained 2 lbs. back.

Seeing the good results of doing exercise.  And how when I was not doing them, my energy decreased, I once again set up a goal for the summer.  This time I did the 60 days of the program.  My weight stayed at 130.  But my energy level went up.  And the plus bonus was that I dropped from a size 10 to a size 8.

I still have another 5 pounds to loose.  See when you start exercising you build up lean muscle.  Muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat, but takes up less space then fat.  This is why I have not yet lost the weight but I have lost inches.

I joined a group on Facebook that motivates me.  I learn about the goals of others, what they are working on, what their diet consists of.  One thing they all talk about is Shakeology.  A vitaming packed supplement powder that helps them to loose weight, feel energized and helps them stop the cravings.

I had heard so much about shakeology that I decided to try it.  The only problem is that its a little expensive.
My friend and coach Angie, told me that I could order a challenge pack from beachbody.com and it will be less.
I had been wanting to get the program Body Gospel.  Its an exercise program with Christian worship music. So I ordered the challenge pack for Body Gospel from Beachbody.  It arrived in just a few days.  Even though I did not pay for expedite service.

I began the challenge on 2/6/2012, the program lasts for 30 days.  So to find out more about my results keep posted with my regular post.  At the end of the 30 days, I will update this page and give you the end results.
