The Virus

There has been a flu virus going around our area.

First my son got sick, two days with high fever.  Now he only has a cough.  Then my dear brother got sick.  Oh no! Not him.   Everytime my kids are sick, I try to keep them away from my brother.

Why?  My brother has cystic fibrosis.  If he gets sick, he has to take care well or else, it can lead to pneumonia or bronchitis.  But this time, there was nothing we could do, to prevent him getting sick.

Since Wednesday evening, he was not feeling well.   He had high fever and lots of cough.  He spent all of Thursday in bed, not able to get up.

Mom call me, to give me some home remedies.  I prayed, prayed and prayed.  Hoping he will get better and not be hospitalized.  Thank God, this morning he was feeling much better.

But now, I think I am next and daughter has started coughing too.  Lord, have mercy!

So I keep praying , for our healing Father to help us get better soon.

Hope none of you are catching any flu bugs.

February

As you can see, I am beginning to change the colors and decor in my home.   Changed the window panels from white to red.  Following the liturgical calendar, now that we are back into the Ordinary time, represented by the green color.  The tablecloth and the wall hanging that cover that light switch box are green.

Since we are in the month  in which we celebrate St. Valentine, I added some red roses to the flower vase.  Got a rose scented candle.  I found this centerpiece of the word FAITH.  I am trying to have very few icons on the Feast table.  Only the ones celebrated during the month.

February is dedicated to the Sacred Family.  St. Anthony is my everday intercessor, that is why his icon is always on here.  And another one of my favorite icons, the child Jesus dressed  like a doctor.

I began writing this post on Tuesday but left it as a draft for a few days.

Yesterday I made changes to the "Feast table".

My sister sent me a cross made by our brother-in-law.  This cross had been at her house all this time until a few days ago when she received her own cross.

So I had to make changes to accomodate it on the "Feast table".

I also made the name JESUS,  with wood letters and placed them on a flat piece of wood.  Spray painted the letters in gold.  I lowered the icon of the "Divine Mercy" , in order to cover the light switch box.

I think it looks much better now.  What do you think?
